Road Transport Department

On 1 April 1946, the Road Transport Department was established with the aim to coordinate all aspects of transportation across the country. In connection with the establishment of this department, related acts and regulation was enacted, such as and the Road Transport Act 1987. This was intended to streamline the country's transportation laws as well as a platform for RTD responsibilities.

Malaysia Institute of Ro​ad Safety and Research (MIROS)

The Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research (MIROS) was established in 2007 as an agency under the Ministry of Transport Malaysia to serve as a central repository of knowledge and information on road safety. The findings derived from research and evidence- based intervention programmes provide the basis for the formulation of new strategies, legislations, policies, and enforcement measures, governing road safety at the national level.

Land Public Transport Agency (APAD)

The Land Public Transport Agency (APAD) was established in 2019 formerly as Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD) is an agency under the Ministry of Transport Malaysia responsible for planning and defining land-based public transport policies, programs and strategies to enhance the country's public transportation system which is the core of the National Key Result Area (NKRA). This includes determining policies and planning rail, bus and taxi services and transporting goods through rails and roads. The jurisdiction of APAD is in Peninsular Malaysia only.

Commercial Vehicle Licensing Board (LPKP) Sabah & Sarawak

The Commercial Vehicle Licensing Board (CVLB) was established under Section 3 of the CVLB Act 1987 (Act 334) intended to execute and enforce the act and the rules provided thereunder on the licensing and regulation of commercial vehicles and on matters connected therewith. In 2009, the Commercial Vehicle Licensing Board of Sabah & Sarawak was placed under the Prime Minister's Department and enforced the CVLB Act 1987 (Act 334) after the dissolution of the Ministry of Entrepreneur and Cooperative Development. In 2018, Commercial Vehicle Licensing Board of Sabah was placed under Ministry of Transport (MOT).

Railway Asset Corporation

Railway Asset Corporation (RAC) is a Federal Statutory Body that was established under Railway Act 1991. Through the Act, RAC is responsible for managing the railway asset which was vested to RAC after the corporatization of Keretapi Tanah Melayu in 1992.
