Deputy Minister of Transport Malaysia
Datuk Haji Hasbi bin Haji Habibollah has been appointed as the Deputy Minister of Transport Malaysia from 11 March 2020 under the leadership of the Right Honorable Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
Born on January 2, 1963 in Limbang, Sarawak, he received his early education at Tun Datu Tuanku Haji Bujang College, Miri before pursuing his Bachelor's Degree at the University of Iowa, USA in Civil Engineering.
Upon his return to Sarawak, he started his career as a Civil Engineer with the Sarawak Public Works Department before opting for premature retirement in 2008 after serving for 22 years in the department.
He became active in politics in 2008 when he was nominated to contest on a Barisan Nasional ticket in the Limbang Parliamentary Constituency and won the seat during the 12th General Election (GE). He then managed to defend the seat during the 13th GE and 14th GE. Based on his abilities and capabilities, Tuan Haji Hasbi bin Haji Habibollah has been entrusted by his party and has been appointed as the Assistant Secretary General of the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB).
Apart from that, he has served as Chairman of the Sarawak Commercial Vehicle Licensing Board (2010-2018), Member of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) (2013-2018) and is currently serving as the Chairman of Lembaga Amanah Kebajikan Melayu Bahagian Limbang since 2012.
