| This unit was established in November 2008 where it replaced the Public Relations Unit which was previously under the International and Corporate Division. This Unit was strengthened with the creation of a Head of Corporate Communication (Grade 54) position, in addition to Senior Public Relation Officers and support staff.
The main function of this Unit is as a focal point of the Ministry in delivery and disseminating information, upgrading the corporate image of the Ministry, dealing with public relations, media and complaints. |
- Provide professional, friendly, courteous and efficient service.
- Respond to customer queries and complaints within three working days.
- Provide a convenient and friendly customer service counter.
- Publicize programs and activities of the Ministry to the target audience.
- Send Reports on Public Complaints to the Public Complaints Bureau on the first Tuesday every month.
- Ensure letters to editors is answered within 1 working day after receiving responses from departments and agencies.

- Focal point in disseminiting information.
- To plan and implement activities in building of corporate image for the Ministry/agencies.
- To plan, coodinate and implement communication plans/promotions/publicity programs for the Ministry/agencies.
- To plan and implement public relations programs for the Ministry/agencies.
- To manage and build relationship with the media.
- To plan, manage, implement and monitor all matters related to Customers.
- To manage, monitor and coodinate complaints.
- To monitor issues related to the Ministry/agencies in the mass media.
- To plan, coodinate and publish publication materials for the Ministry.

- To foster a harmonious corporate relationship with the industry, mass media, industry audiences (stakeholders) and customers.
- To regulate, monitor and manage all activities related to issues and public complaints on services delivered by the Ministry and its agencies.
- To build positive image, advertise and promote news publicity, services and policies of the Ministry.
