Aviation Division is one of the divisions in Ministry of Transport Malaysia. This division is responsible for all civil aviation affairs in Malaysia. This division is made up of five units as follow:
  • Air Transport
  • Airport Services
  • Aerospace & Industrial Hubbing
  • Licensing & Rural Air Services
  • Safety/Security & Convention
  • To process the applications from scheduled airlines to increase flight frequency or to introduce new routes within 2 weeks.
  • To process the applications from charter airlines to operate charter flights within 1 week.
  • To process the applications for airspace closure within 2 weeks.
  • To process the applications for upgrading / construction of airport and system within 3 months.
  • To process the applications for Air Services License (ASL) within 6 month.
  • To process the applications for Air Services Permit and approval for flying school within 1 month.
  • Response to all complaints received within 3 working days.
  • To plan and review the policies relating to air services from time to time.
  • To expand the international air services network through air negotiations.
  • To ensure the planning, building and maintenance of airport infrastructure is in accordance with the specified standards.
  • To ensure that all existing rules and regulations in air transport / aviation are in accordance with the guidelines stipulated by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO).
  • To develop an efficient, economical and safe air transport system for passengers and cargo.
  • To plan and implement infrastructural projects to meet the demands of air transport.
